When your classmate is your client - Sophia Marie Rico

It is not very often when you get the chance to work with someone who you have studied with.

When I met with Sophie to discuss her photography project, I wasn’t expecting to hear a career in Acting. I was pleasantly surprised and really took it to heart because (believe it or not) I did some acting back in my teen years. This made it even more personal for me because I know what it is like to aim high and try your best to achieve your dreams.

Sophia Marie Rico a.k.a Sophie wanted to receive some great images that she can use when attending casting calls and I had to deliver to the expectations. I wanted to achieve something dramatic and artistic that shows her vulnerable personality and gentle and youthful spirit. Throughout the shoot, we had to phase in and out of different characters to deliver so many faces and emotions on the camera. It was indeed a mini telenovela but it was all worth it at the end. The fun we had and the images delivered prove that sometimes too much preparation can take a bit of the energy of the photographs.

I wish Sophie and her aspirations a very successful future and most of all to find happiness in everything she does. As for everybody else, whether you are an established act or an upcoming artist, give ma shout and we can come up with something.
