The Great British Gin Festival 2018

Exactly two weeks ago, I attended this year’s ‘The Great British Gin Festival‘ in Southampton, invited specially by MEGA Events as their official photographer. It was quite a bless for me as I could experience not one but two of my favourite things - photography and gin… plenty of gin. The event took place in the O2 Guildhall and was packed from the moment, I walked in. I enjoyed the whole feeling of it as you could easily feel people enjoying themselves with few drinks and some real jazz music. The stands around included various gin companies covering every name you could think of from A to Z. Additionally, some of the stands delivered presentations and talks, while other showed a variety of cocktail recipes - there was also a virtual tour of a gin distillery for the lovers of tech and gin.

On your way in (if you have a ticket… or as in my case, get an exclusive entrance), you receive a complimentary branded gin glass and a little booklet called ‘The Gin Bible‘. This allows you to choose the gins you want to try carefully as the number of products you have is probably more than 100 for sure. It tell you the stand, the ingredients a bit of information about the producer. Wish, I didn’t work on this day as I couldn’t even try a single drink. *sad face*

The preview above includes some of the images from my coverage on the day and these will be used for Online and Print publishing and even-though I am not sure how many people attended the event itself, I can tell you that there were more than 6 thousand interested and it definitely marked another successful year in Southampton. I am definitely coming back next year as a guest.
